Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor in a film together?

Shah Rukh Khan shared screen space withVarun Dhawan in the recently released Dilwale. And now, 9xe.com has reported that SRK is all set to share screen space with another Gen-Y actor. This time, it's going to be Ranbir Kapoor.

The online portal reported that YRF is planning to get the two actors on board for a special film, to be helmed by Chak De! India director Shimit Amin. Previously, it was reported that Shimit is planning his next with Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor but that project is now on the backburner. Shimit has found a great script to work upon and he has already had a talk with both SRK and Ranbir.

While nothing has been confirmed as of now, the first round of discussions have been 'fruitful'. So will SRK and Ranbir come together for the film? If they do, it might as well be another interesting bromance to watch out on screen. What say, guys?

Ranbir Kapoor to romance Alia Bhatt in Imtiaz Ali's next?

After three back-to-back debacles, Ranbir Kapoor has finally tasted success with his last box-office outing Tamasha. The Bombay Velvet actor has yet again struck gold at the box office with director Imtiaz Ali's film. And it seems the two are all set to take the collaboration further with another project.  

According to a report published in DNA, Ranbir and Imtiaz are open to working together for their third film. However, buzz has it that Ranbir will not romance his ex-flame Deepika Padukone or his girlfriend Katrina Kaif in the forthcoming film.

Despite their crackling chemistry in Tamasha, Imtiaz is apparently not too enthusiastic to cast Ranbir and Deepika together in his next. A source was quoted as telling the website, "Ranbir with Katrina or Deepika has become a predictable pairing. He has never cared who his heroine was. In fact, in Rockstar, Imtiaz cast a completely out-of-depth Nargis Fakhri with Ranbir. Now, his next will feature Ranbir with Alia Bhatt for the first time."

Ranbir has romanced many heroines on the silver screen, but it is for the first time that he will share screen space with Alia. In fact, in an interview with a magazine earlier this year, Alia had also revealed that she has a major crush on Ranbir.  

Interestingly, Ranbir and Alia had been roped in by filmmaker Ayan Mukerji for a superhero film. But the film hasn't rolled out yet and it's future is still uncertain.

Ranbir Kapoor really paid this much money for Tamasha?

Ranbir Kapoor might not have tasted much box-office fame with his last few films, but that is sure no dampener to his image - commercially. Kapoor recently appeared in the Imtiaz Ali film Tamasha.

The Bombay Velvet actor was paid a whopping Rs 38 crore for Tamasha, a report in the Times of India has revealed. The figures are out in the open after a raid was conducted on Kwan, the company that manages Ranbir's work, the report stated.

Ranbir's last three films haven't been able to fare well at the box office. Anurag Kashyap's Bombay Velvet was a massive disaster, Vikramjit Singh's Roy sank without a trace, and Abhinav Kashyap's Besharam fell flat at the box office. After the last three debacles, Ranbir was on the big screen with Imtiaz Ali's Tamasha.

In Tamasha, Ranbir appeared on screen alongside ex-lover Deepika Padukone, a reason expectations from the film ran high. However, upon release, the Imtiaz Ali-directed film met with lukewarm response at the box office. The mixed reviews from critics didn't help either.

In ten days of its release, Tamasha had earned Rs 61.23 crore at the domestic box office.

Ranbir soaring high on success

Actor Ranbir Kapoor, who is basking in the success of his latest filmTamasha after delivering back-to-back flops, said it’s his responsibility to give ‘good films’ to his fans, reported IANS.

“It’s my responsibility to give good films to my fans. My last few films didn’t work, but my approach towards my work hasn’t changed. I felt bad that I had let my fans down with a few flop films, but I just hope I can do better and entertain them again,” Ranbir said.

“We as actors don’t want to get typecast in this industry. We all want to play different characters because now we have opportunities. I feel it’s a great time for us to be in this film industry,” he added.

Ranbir shared one cannot challenge the audience and they are always the king when it comes to the box-office fate of any film. “As you grow older you realise you cannot challenge an audience because what they say is their verdict. If some people have not liked the film, you have to accept it,” he shared at the success bash of Tamasha.

At the event, Ranbir’s co-star and former girlfriend Deepika Padukone stated, “This is everybody’s effort that ‘Tamasha’ is doing well. But I am happy that finally people’s reaction about Ranbir has changed and he is getting praised for his performance,” reported Indian Express. “Since Ranbir’s last three movies have not done well, whatever people have been saying about him is now proved wrong. Ranbir is a talented actor and I just want him to be happy.”

Tamasha has kept the cash register ringing and has also garnered a positive response. The collections of the film in the opening weekend have been great and Ranbir shared that the film needs to do well on weekdays as well as during the next week to be considered a ‘success’.

While the film has fared well at the box office, it has received mixed views from critics. Speaking about this, Ranbir shared, “I think every film receives mixed responses. Very few films earn a unanimous response, but as of now I’d like to focus on the positives.”

About Deepika and director Imtiaz Ali, he said, “It feels good that Imtiaz’s dream and hard work have led to positive results.”

He added, “Deepika does every film from her heart. She is a fantastic actor and enjoys massive popularity and craze. I’m happy that this team came together and found this initial success.”

Of why Ranbir was off the film radar after his flops in Roy, Bombay Velvet and Besharam, he mentioned, “I hadn’t gone anywhere. I was still working in the same way. Just because my films didn’t work doesn’t mean I disappeared somewhere, I was always right here.”

Ranbir also has an interesting line-up of films, which include Jagga Jasoos and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. He has also given his nod for the biopics on Kishore Kumar and Sanjay Dutt.

We're fortunate to have the equation that we do, and I think we are mature enough to understand that, for us, our work is our priority."

This is the second time after their break-up that the actors have reunited for the silver screen. Deepika Padukone's wish becomes Ranbir Kapoor's command

It was Deepika Padukone's wish to travel by train that became her "Tamasha" co-star Ranbir Kapoor's command, as both will be taking a train ride on Sunday to the national capital to promote their upcoming film.

The duo was originally supposed to travel by flight for the Delhi promotions. In a recent conversation, however, Deepika expressed her wish to travel by train as she had not done so in a very long time.

When Ranbir learnt about this wish of his co-star, he immediately got on to make the required arrangements. The flight tickets to Delhi were canceled and the team booked for an overnight train travel instead.

While both of them have traveled to Delhi a lot of times, it will be for the first time that they will get on an overnight train to cover the journey.

They will be leaving from Mumbai on Sunday afternoon and have already planned the things to do on this journey.

The hit pair reunites in Imtiaz Ali's "Tamasha" after 2013 hit "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani".

What Deepika Padukone Says About Working With Ranbir Kapoor

Deepika Padukone has collaborated with Ranbir Kapoor on three films and the actress says that it is a pleasure to work with Ranbir as it has helped her evolve as a better person.

Ranbir and Deepika, who made their Bollywood debut eight years ago with Saawariya and Om Shanti Om, have also worked together in Bachna Ae Haseeno and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. They will also share screen space in Imtiaz Ali's upcoming romanceTamasha.

The 29-year-old actress loves the transformation Ranbir, 33, has undergone in the last eight years.

"It has been an amazing journey. Eight years ago we were raw, nervous. It was our first film and for no fault of ours we were pitted against each other. Today we are sitting and talking about a film as we are starring in it together," Deepika said in an interview.

"It feels nice to see the kind of person Ranbir has become, how talented he is, the kind of movies he is doing. I always say that working with him makes you a better person, a better actor. The passion he has for his work makes you work hard," she said.

Ranbir Kapoor Approached For a Film by Childhood Friend Binoy

Actor Ranbir Kapoor has been approached for a film by his director-friend Binoy Gandhi.

Binoy, who is making his debut as a director with Jee Bhar Ke Jee Le, is working on a script for his childhood friend Ranbir.

"I have discussed the idea with Ranbir and he liked it. It is a light-hearted film where the character of Ranbir believes in spreading happiness. It (film) is on the lines of what Rajkumar Hirani makes," Binoy told PTI.

"Ranbir and I were childhood friends. The great thing about him is that he has not changed even a bit after achieving so much success," added Binoy. 

Binoy also said that the film will not have a romantic angle. "There would not be a romantic angle in the film but the main character would have a best friend," said Binoy. 

Binoy is working on the script and will complete it y February next year. 

"Once I am done with the film, I will narrate the story to Ranbir. I am hopeful that he will like it," he added.

Binoy is launching filmmaker J P Dutta's daughter Nidhi in Jee Bhar Ke Jee Le.

"We are working on the post production of the film. Hopefully the first look of the film would be out by mid-December. The film should release next year in January," said Binoy.

Ranbir will soon be seen in Imtiaz Ali's Tamasha co-starring Deepika Padukone.

Tamasha is scheduled to release on November 27.

Katrina Kaif is rejecting big films, thanks to beau Ranbir Kapoor

There are reports that Katrina Kaif is in no mood to sign any new films, as the actress is all prepared to tie knot with her beau Ranbir Kapoor.

 
Reportedly, “Aditya Chopra had offered Kat a role opposite Shah Rukh Khan, but she turned down the offer and now off lately Tanu Weds Manu director too approached the lady to play Srk’s leading lady in his next, but she rejected the offer saying she has a chockablock schedule.
 
However the reports also suggest that Earlier Katrina was Rohit Shetty’s first choice in Dilwale, but she turned down the project. And now the latest buzz is that Kat also stepped out from Jacky Chan’s Kung Fu Yoga and the role has gone to Ileana D’Cruz.
 
During the Phantom interviews when asked Miss Kaif about turning down the films to get settled down, she completely ignored the question.

Actors Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor paint the town red in the first song, Matargashti, from their upcoming film Tamasha.

But it's clearly Ranbir who steals the show with his efforts to woo Deepika, mimicry of evergreen actor Dev Anand and impeccable comic timing.

The French island of Corsica, with its blue seascapes and breathtaking visuals, provides the backdrop to the romance between the characters played by Deepika Padukone, Tara and Ranbir Kapoor, Dev. The peppy feel-good song has been sung by Mohit Chauhan, the voice of Ranbir's character in Rockstar. AR Rahman has scored the music.

In Tamasha, Deepika reportedly plays an Asterix fan (which explains Corsica, the setting for one of the indomitable Gaul's adventures) who falls in love with Ranbir's character after a chance encounter. They form a troupe to stage plays and fall in love along the way.

Deepika and Ranbir last collaborated on 2013 hit Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani. Ranbir and Imtiaz reunite after the acclaimed Rockstar and Deepika and Imtiaz after Love Aaj Kal.

Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif share a great on-screen chemistry, but not many know there's a certain amount of discomfort the leading lady feels while working with her alleged beau.

"I feel it is difficult to work with people you know very well. I think it is easier to act in front of strangers. When someone knows you really well and you are acting in front of them... you feel a bit forced, you feel you are acting...as he knows you are lying," Katrina told PTI when asked about sharing screen space with Ranbir," PTI quoted Katrina as saying.

Talking about her experience working with the gifted director, Katrina says he is a "mad genius" who cannot be controlled adding that his process might come across as tedious but there's a "method to his madness".

Also, she rubbished the rumours of the big fall-out between them which apparently put the Kapoor lad in a spot.

"This is a stupid rumour. People are assuming problems because the film is not following our desired schedule. Ranbir who had worked with dada, knows the way he works and so do I," she further elaborated.

Scheduled for June 2016 release, the story follows the journey of a teenage detective in search of his father.

In other news, Katrina has wrapped up "Fitoor" and Ranbir is busy shooting for Karan Johar's "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil".

Learnt a lot working with Deepika: Ranbir Kapoor

"I learnt a lot working with Deepika. We did our second film together, 'Bachna Ae Haseeno' and then we did 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' which was a big hit. To see her grow as an actor and to this extent, was really heart-warming, encouraging and really inspiring for me," he said after launching, with her, the trailer of Imtiaz Ali's much-anticipated romantic film, "Tamasha" here on Tuesday.

"For me, 'Tamasha' is very special, to come with this team together. And I really hope that the people give the film a chance in the theatres and they enjoy the film. It's the second film with Imtiaz and second film with Sajid Nadiadwala, my third film with Deepika and my eleventh film with Siddharth Roy Kapur (UTV Motion Pictures). So I'm really excited to work with this team," he said.

The trailer was also launched on digital mediums and it was soon getting widely discussed on social media similar to the response the first look had garnered. The chemistry between Ranbir and Deepika definitely strikes through but perhaps some might consider it a tad emotional.

About the director of the film, Ranbir credits Imtiaz's "Rockstar" as an important milestone in his career. "'Rockstar' taught me and gave me a lot of success, awards and learning."

About the tagline, "Why always the same story?", Imtiaz said: "Sometimes the same kind of events occur in life and then we blame our circumstances for it and say that this is how life is. You never become who you are really as an individual. 

"And the same story repeats for you, unless you take control of your life. You change that by saying that you're not enjoying matters and that you'll make your own endings in life, that's when a different kind of 'tamasha' takes place."

Deepika Padukone's ex-beau Ranbir Kapoor losing endorsement deal to Ranveer Singh?

Ranbir Kapoor will reportedly be replaced by Ranveer Singh as the brand ambassador of a popular deodorant brand.
Ranbir has been endorsing the deodorant brand for quite some time now, but the brand is said to be in talks with Ranveer to rope him in as the new brand ambassador.

"The deodorant brand is planning to change their brand ambassador. Previously, it was Ranbir Kapoor but the brand wants a different face for their new campaign now," DNA quoted a source as saying. "They are considering Ranveer as their new endorser. Talks are on with the actor but nothing has been finalised."
While Ranveer has been climbing the success ladder and is very popular with the youth today, two of Ranbir's movies -- "Roy" and "Bombay Velvet" --  tanked at the box office one after the other.  This might be one of the reasons why the brand intends to replace Ranbir.
Ranbir and Ranveer have never worked together in a film, but the two have a connection and that is Deepika Padukone. While, Ranbir was Deepika's former boyfriend, Ranveer is supposed to be her current love interest.

Jagga Jasoos' now a TV series: Will Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif play the lead?

Filmmaker Anurag Basu is gearing up to shoot a 13-episode series titled "Junior Jagga", which will be aired on television.

The series will show the young Jagga from the film "Jagga Jasoos". In the flick, Ranbir Kapoor plays the character of Jagga, and Basu reportedly wanted to show the audience the life of junior Jagga. 

Keeping in tune with it, the series will have child artists playing Ranbir and Katrina Kaif's role and showing their early life.

"The show will have a child artiste playing Ranbir's character and showing the formative years of Jagga. Anurag will start shooting the series next year," Deccan Chronicle quoted a source as saying.

"He (Ranbir) will appear in the final episode of the TV series. It's an interesting innovation to familiarise one's movie content with the audience much in advance," the insider further added.

While the "Bombay Velvet" actor will appear in the final episode of "Junior Jagga", there are speculations that Katrina might also feature along with her real life beau.

The film, "Jagga Jasoos", will bring the couple together on the big screen after a long time.  The love birds were last seen sharing screen space in the film "Raajneeti" (2010). The film also marks the return of Ranbir and Anurag Basu after "Barfi" (2012).

The schedule of the film has been completed in Thailand and South Africa. Though, "Jagga Jasoos" was earlier expected to be released in November this year, recent reports suggest that the film's release date has been delayed to mid-2016.
